or Paddy
A 15hh, 16yo, Bay, Quarter x Stock Horse.
Paddy was my first horse, which probably wasn’t the best idea. He is a massive horse (both body weight and height) everything about him is BIG! He has no real understanding of personal space, and considering I was just 7yo when I got him, I was pushed around alot. He’s a bit too smart for his own good, he’ll figure out your weaknesses and use them to his advantage.
He’s been leased to 3 people. The first girl wanted to buy him, and at that time he wasn’t for sale so we moved him on to another girl. She then had uni commitments, then he went onto a middle aged lady, who was going to buy him, but defaulted.
Late last year he began not walking forward and pigrooting often. We thought typical Paddy, bloody stubborn. But we took him to the vets, turns out he has an un-fused hock. Basically it’s like a fracture, but it’s something the bones do naturally and in time, they fuse together again. I’m still waiting on this to fuse at the moment, so he’s out enjoying life in a big paddock! I won’t compete him ever again, he’s pretty much retired, apart from a bit of a work or trail every now and again and hopefully some strict groundwork so he stops being so pushy! He’s a goof, but I still love him :) He’s my old grump, the one that puts up with the cuddles and listens to my problems <3
